The LD1085 is a LOW DROP Voltage Regulator able to provide up to 3A of Output Current. Dropout is guaranteed at a maximum of 1.5V at the maximum output current, decreasing at lower loads. The LD1085 is pin compatible with older 3-terminal adjustable regulators, but has better performances in term of drop and output tolerance. The LM117 series of adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulators is capable of supplying in excess of 1.5A over a 1.2V to 37V output range. They are exceptionally easy to use and require only two external resistors to set the output voltage. Further, both line and load regulation are better than standard fixed regulators. The LM1084 is a series of low dropout voltage positive regulators with a maximum dropout of 1.5V at 5A of load current. It has the same pin-out as National Semiconductor's industry standard LM317. The LM1084 is available in an adjustable version, which can set the output voltage with only two external resistors. It is also available in three fixed voltages: 3.3V, 5.0V and 12.0V. The fixed versions intergrate the adjust resistors. The LM1084 circuit includes a zener trimmed bandgap reference, current limiting and thermal shutdown.
